Southeastern Massachusetts Coordinating Association Inc.
SEMCA is an organization of Square and Round Dance Clubs of Southeastern Massachusetts formed in 1975. It was created for the purpose of providing cooperation, coordination and Communications among the Square and Round Dance Clubs in this area in order to strengthen and to promote member clubs.
SEMCA is made up of clubs who wish to be part of this organization, which appoints delegates who attend bi-monthly meetings. At these meetings, delegates express their opinions, explain their problems, exchange ideas, submit news of their club’s activities and report back to their clubs what has been discussed at the SEMCA meetings.
SEMCA publishes a Calendar four times a year* of Club dance dates. These are distributed to the member clubs at the bi-monthly delegates meeting, to be used by the members of their clubs. This gives members of the participating clubs the opportunity to visit and support other SEMCA clubs.
SEMCA sponsors two annual dances, the profits from which help defray the expenses of the calendar as well as other incurred expenses. It also gives all the delegates and club members a chance to come together to dance and socialize.
